We usually don’t realize that when we lose something, it may in fact be an opportunity in disguise to find something. Often, it’s something different than what we thought we were looking for in the first place. There were a few things we instantly assumed we’d lose (and miss) when we moved into our new neighbourhood. It turns out that we very quickly found replacements that were equal to (dare we say better? It’s a close call) than what we were originally searching for. As in most cases, life is what you make it. A positive attitude and an open mind can be a winning lottery ticket. It also helps to turn “disruption” into “discovery,” quite easily. Here are five of our favourite examples.
Goodbye Burger Priest. Hello South Street. More seating… and a liquor license 🙂
Goodbye Master Mind. Hello Toys R Us. No giftwrap, but a lot of variety.
Goodbye 1 Mile Loop around my old ‘hood. Hello 1/4 mile track.
It’s easy to stay fit when inspiration surrounds you 24/7.
Goodbye Bobette and Belle. Hello Douce France. Well-worth-it calories, no matter how you slice it.
Goodbye suburban. Hello urban. Our old street was close, but not close enough. We’ve since learned that access has its privileges.
